The Physical Stress of Dealing with Stressful People and Stressful Situations
You are stressing me out
How often have you said that in the past week? People and situations can cause stress in our bodies like nothing else.
For us moms, dealing with stressful people and stressful situations is almost a weekly occurrence.
How we handle that stress, whether caused by a person or a situation determines how our body responds to us.
Dealing with stressful people and stressful situations isn’t always easy
And sometimes it can affect us in a physically adverse way. So what’s the best way to deal with stress when it shows up in our body?
The short answer is sometimes it’s not worth it to dwell on the stress. We may find that we have to remove ourselves from the person or the situation.
Sometimes it calls for us to do some superhero style mental work and sometimes we have to do a bit more.
The point is, we have to be vigilant about identifying and recognizing who and what is stressing us out.
And we also have to be vigilant about what strategies we need to tap into in order to deal. Otherwise, we can be assured that the stress is going to manifest itself physically in our bodies.
I discuss two simple strategies in this video that I use to help me as soon as I feel that burning sensation in my back, my neck, and my muscles. The burn usually starts off gradually and before I know it I have a headache.
